Heaslip Bin wins TMA Award |
New Heaslip bin is a real winner…

Delegates of the Tractor and machinery Association (TMA) have presented the new Agrowplow® Heaslip HM series grain and fertiliser bin with the ‘Best Australian Agricultural Machine’ award at the recent Henty Field Days.

The prestigious award recognises innovation in design, quality and safety with the Heaslip HM bin scoring well in all aspects to outpoint a host of other entrants

The new Heaslip HM series is designed and built by local equipment manufacturer Agrowplow at their Wellington NSW facility. Engineering and production manager for Agrowplow Wade Smith was delighted with the win saying “It’s a great credit to the production staff at Wellington, being recognised for designing and producing a high quality product and it is a great honour”.

The HM series bin is modular by design and carries all types of seed and fertilisers to load air seeders and drills in sowing season. The bin modules are produced in 2.5, 3 and 3.5 metre lengths that simply ‘link together’ to suit the length of tray space available. The system is suitable for 40’, 45’and 48’ semis as well as tray trucks. Modules can be added or removed as required with each bin having a flat conveyer belt system in the bottom to transport the contents rearwards to the discharge elevator.

"A great feature of the module system is that farmers can carry different seeds or fertilisers in the separate bins on one load for blending or mixing” Wade said. He continued by explaining “While this is important to farmers, the unique part of our machine is the rear mounted belt unloading or discharge elevator. The elevator features a cleated belt conveyor which is very gentle on seeds and fertilisers eliminating cracking and damage to fragile seeds."

"The discharge elevator has a reach of four metres and can swivel up to 90 degrees on the driver's side and 45 degrees on the passenger side of the truck. It is capable of discharge rates up to 60 tonnes per hour.” Wade said. “It is also very compact in the transport position, when folded it takes up just 0.6 of a metre of tray space." He added.

An excellent safety feature of the machine is the remote control device which controls all functions including engine start and stop, elevator folding and swivelling, discharge and conveyor belt engage and disengage as well as discharge door opening and closing. It also saves time as the truck driver can pull up close to the airseeder and use the remote control to position the elevator correctly for unloading without the need to move the truck again.

The Agrowplow® Heaslip HM can be equipped with either a Honda GX 670 24 hp petrol engine or a Hatz 2G40 18hp diesel engine. A Hatz 26hp 2L41C ‘Silent’ diesel engine is offered as an option. A roll top tarp and storage legs are also provided as standard equipment.
